The aircraft is capable of transporting up to 124 passengers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-37jpk7-5c5e7d690927ae553eb001303537ecde '  ><div class='avia_textblock' ><h2><span style=\"color: #daa520;\">History and Features<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-2j0v6r-a95e417f2e5d0e864728cc0a9195c283 '  ><div class='avia_textblock' ><blockquote>\n<p><span class='av_dropcap1 av-av_dropcap1-3cd9da5fea0ef5fb27aee617571c39a3'>T<\/span>he A319 is a shortened-fuselage variant of the Airbus A320 and entered service in April 1996, around two years after the stretched Airbus A321 and eight years after the original A320. The aircraft shares a common type rating with all other Airbus A320 family variants, allowing existing A320 family pilots to fly the aircraft without the need for further training.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As of April 2019, a total of 1,477 Airbus A319 aircraft have been delivered, of which 1,440 are in service. In addition, another 44 airliners are on firm order (comprising 9 A319ceo and 35 A319neo). As of January 2019, American Airlines was the largest operator of the Airbus A319, operating 130 aircraft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In December 2010, Airbus announced a new generation of the A320 family, the A320neo (new engine option). The similarly shortened fuselage A319neo variant offers new, more efficient engines, combined with airframe improvements and the addition of winglets, named &#8220;sharklets&#8221; by Airbus. The aircraft will deliver fuel savings of up to 15%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Two A320neo family variants are offered: the ACJ319neo, carrying eight passengers up to 6,750\u00a0nmi (12,500\u00a0km), and the ACJ320neo, carrying 25 up to 6,000\u00a0nmi (11,000\u00a0km). The CFM LEAP or Pratt &#038; Whitney PW1000G lower fuel-burn provides additional range along with lower engine noise while the cabin altitude does not exceed 6,400\u00a0ft (2,000\u00a0m). To increase its fuel capacity, the ACJ319neo is offered with up to five additional centre tanks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As a shortened-fuselage version of Airbus\u2019 A320 cornerstone single-aisle jetliner, the A319 continues to prove its versatility by providing a range of seating options, with all options offering the highest level of passenger comfort. The A319 has the same optimised cabin cross-section as the other A320 Family members \u2013 which is the widest single-aisle fuselage on the market and sets the standards for passenger cabins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This allows for top-of-the-range comfort with generous seat width, or an extra-wide aisle for fast turnarounds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A new cabin interior introduced by Airbus for the A320 Family ensures the A319 meets the needs of airline travellers today and tomorrow, setting a new standard for passenger comfort on single-aisle jetliners. \u00a0The calm and quiet cabin provides a fresh new look, more space in the overhead compartments, a noticeable reduction in noise, and options for relaxing ambience lighting \u2013 all while being lighter.<\/p>\n<p
