The Citation II, Model 550, was a direct development from the Citation I. The Cessna Citation II is capable of transporting up to 8 passengers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-37jpk7-5c5e7d690927ae553eb001303537ecde '  ><div class='avia_textblock' ><h2><span style=\"color: #daa520;\">History and Features<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-2j0v6r-a95e417f2e5d0e864728cc0a9195c283 '  ><div class='avia_textblock' ><blockquote>\n<p><span class='av_dropcap1 av-av_dropcap1-3cd9da5fea0ef5fb27aee617571c39a3'>W<\/span>hen the Citation II debuted in the light business jet market, it sold 1,000 jets in its first four years on the market and was manufactured for sixteen years, making it Cessna\u2019s best-selling private jet to date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">At the time of the Citation II release, competition in\u00a0the industry was challenging manufacturers to make the heaviest, most\u00a0complicated, hard-to-fly jet.\u00a0The\u00a0Citation II defied all trends with its simple systems and manufacturing techniques,\u00a0dramatically reducing operating and purchase costs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Citation II can carry eight passengers up to 2,000 nm at\u00a0a max cruise speed of 374 knots.\u00a0 Its two\u00a0Pratt &#038; Whitney JT15D-4 engines provide 2,500 pounds of thrust apiece on takeoff.\u00a0 It climbs quickly at a little more than 3,000 feet per minute and has a maximum service ceiling of 43,000 feet.<\/p>\n<p>\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\"
